We invite the public to join us today, and have attracted a small number of curious spectators on a busy festival holiday weekend, as well as some competitors for two side events.

In the Newcomers event, we will have three student players playing a round robin, with bye players from the main event playing rated games with bye players from the Newcomers event, but not counting for ratings. The three students are TD John Chew's son Liam, TWL competitor Chuck Abbate's son Nick, and Quentin, a student from the host school.

In the Public unrated event, we have two English players, one French player, and two bilingual players. The first three rounds will be as much of a round robin as we can complete subject to language constraints; the fourth round will be a language-constrainted king-of-the-hill.

By my count, that brings our total playing attendance up to 22 players now.
